So theres rumours going around for a while now for the new upcoming J.J. Abrams project called "
Alcatraz". Casting for the pilot has just been finished (see
IMDB Casting List, including Sam Neill, Jorge Garcia, Robert Forster and Sarah Jones) and the script is ready to jump into production now. Even though IMDB lists this as to be released in 2013, rumours have it that it will most likely be shown to audiences and advertisers in New York in April/May to get a 2011 fall season release.
Alcatraz centers around the well known prison/island and some of the most gruesome criminals housing there. It is written and produced by
LOST creator J.J. Abrams in a co-production with
Kyle XY producer Steve Lilien and Elizabeth Sarnoff (
LOST). I have no doubt
JJ Abrams Alcatraz will be picked up by FOX, i just hope it won't take 2 years to get more episodes done.
