In Treatment cancelled

HBO series In Treatment has just been confirmed cancelled. But thats not the whole story: In Treatment probably won't return the way fans were loving it, but there is still a chance it will return!

After announcing its canellation HBO has clarified the previous statement themselves and said:

 “It’s true that we have no plans to continue with In Treatment as previously formatted. However, we are in continued conversations with the executive producers to find another way to continue telling these rich stories.”

Mad Men Season 5 is going to air in 2012

Fans of Mad Men have to wait till early 2012 to see more of the awesome AMC drama. As far as information right now go, AMC triggered Lionsgate option for another Season of Mad Men, so it will likely go into production in fall 2011. Right now the production company is still in negotations with non-key castmembers.

Burn Notice Prequel Movie Trailer released

Misfits Spin-Off and US Remake

  

E4's british comedy/drama/sci-fi TV Show "Misfits", just crowned "Upstars of the Year" by the Independents television review of the year, was just beeing renewed for a season 3. Already back in November when season 2 of Misfits started airing in the UK, rumours were evolving that season 3 is already written and ready for production after series 2 finished. But theres more to come for Nathan/Robert Sheehan fanboys:

There are rumours floating around that there's a possibility of a spin-off series, much like Doctor Who did. Theres even more: Since UK television programs usually do great on US-markets (see: The Office), Misfits creators and some cable networks are considering a way to produce a US-Version of Misfits. Is it going to be as good as the original? Possibly not, except they choose to re-cast Sheehan as Nathan.

5) Walter H. White, Breaking Bad

When a teacher gets diagnosed with lungcancer you expect him to do a lot of things. Maybe get his will in order, spend time with his kids or read some books he always wanted to read. You sure as hell do not expect him to go berserk, start producing crystal-meth in a trailer, partner up with a junky (who is an ex-student of yours) and to go in business with people who wear guns 24/7. Thats what he did though - he even was so good at it, that he is the mainsupplier of meth now.





4) Agent Alexander Mahone, Prison Break 

Having a corpse in your own garden is not easy. Hunting 7 criminals who just broke out of a highsecurity prison isn't either. Then theres the pill-addiction and some mo-fo who just killed your kid. Also you got your supervisor in your back, work 18 hours the day as a CIA Agent and you somewhat got into business with people you're supposed to get in chains. The time around Prison Break sure wasn't easy for Mahone.






3) Dexter Morgan, Dexter

Ever beeing sick of criminals? You felt like the law just didn't punish them like they have to be punished? Well Dexter Morgan from the TV Show Dexter took matters in his own hands. Wandering around at night, killing off criminals and working as a lab-geek for the police in daytime, Dexter is living a pretty spectacular life. He even managed to get rid of Doakes, the second coolest character on Dexter.






2) Omar Devone Little, The Wire 

You ever walked around like Omar in the picture on the left? I did not. Omar was somewhat like a freelancer in The Wire. No gang-affililiation, he was just walking around his hood, equipped with a shotgun, a bulletproof-vest and was whistling some pretty relaxing melody when he was going to hit some dealers. They even feared him so much that every time someone saw him around the ghettos they were instantly shouting "YO, OMAR COMING, OMAR COMING" as a warning.






1) Horatio Caine, CSI Miami

Horatio Caine from CSI Miami is without a doubt the coolest character on TV. All he does is putting his sunglasses on and off 80 times per episode, while dropping the most stupid one-liners in a slurpy talking kinda way. If you would measure Horatio Caines ego, it would surely exceed 9000.

  

Tom Hanks to star on 30 Rock

Oscar winner Tom Hanks is going to make a cameo on this season of 30 Rock, as he has just confirmed himself via Twitter. Details about his role are still unknown so theres a chance he will most likely play himself. Other well known actors who were / or still are on 30 Rock were the likes of James Franco, Susan Sarandon and Matt Damon.

His appareance on 30 Rock will be first time he is back on Cable TV since almost 2 decades, where he starred in Family Ties as the alcoholic Uncle Ned.. Prior to this, Tom Hanks had his big breakthrough in the 80s sitcom Bosom Buddies.

Ever watched a show just because of one single character? Well I did, several times actually. Therefore I may present you my personal Top 10 of the coolest Characters on TV. Starting with 10 to 6. Check part 2 for places 5 to 1

10) Paul Kellerman (Prison Break)

Prison Break was awesome in its first two seasons.As the hitman of an underground organisation, Kellerman showed no mercy for any of his victims, no matter what age, gender or religions they were. He did his job and he was good at it. Prison Break fans begged the writers to get him back for a cameo later on - but even he wasn't able to drag Prison Break out of its hole.



9) Michael Weston, Burn Notice

"My name is Michael Weston, I used to be a spy" Does it get any cooler than the opening monologue for Burn Notice? Well hardly. Jeffrey Donovan plays the Ex-Spy going freelancer and helping other people. While he rarely even kills someone, he sure knows how to destroy the people that deserve it. He's also great with bombs, cars, guns and costumes.






8) John Locke, LOST

Locke was super-badass. Even though he was sitting in a wheelchair after his dad basically through him out of a window, he wanted nothing more than to travel the woods of Australia. He managed the hunting and teaching part on the island, while Jack and Kate were busy crying about stuff and beeing bitchy and whiny all the time. Also had Ian Somerhald as a student, who then died. Locke did not care.





7) Agent Phillip Broyles, Fringe

Have you seen this guy? I mean honestly, I believe he got a better bonestructure in his face than me in my whole body. He basically just walks around and is commanding his Fringe-Division, while looking amazingly cool and sharp all the time. Also played your usual cool guy on J.J. Abrams LOST.




6) B.A. Baracus, A-Team

Mr. T als B.A. Baracus, hero of my childhood. The original A-Team (not the ones in the movie obviously) didn't kill one single guy. Amazing if you consider they were shooting at people and exploding stuff all the time. He was also driving your usual partysquad/rapist van around and was wearing something like 60 pounds of goldchains around his neck all the time. Also was way too cool to not be afraid of flying.

Fringe renewed for Season 4

It wasn't looking good for Fringe after ratings went downhill for the last 2 episodes, but fans of the show (including me) can look forward to another season of FOX sci-fi drama!

Producer and FOX executives just announced over Twitter that FOX is going to order atleast 22 more episodes of Fringe for a full season order. Expect an official statement through FOX and Fringe channels later that day

Germanys Next Topmodel 2011 Bilder

for my german readers, weekly 2011 GNTM Post.

Wie jeden Donnerstag durften auch diese Woche wieder Heidis heißesten Anwärterinnen auf den Titel "Germanys Next Topmodel" die Bühne ihr Eigen nennen. Neben unzähligen Zoff zwischen Super-Zicken Anna-Lena und Tahnee gegen erfolgreiche Kandidatinnen wie Rebecca, Aleksandra oder Joana, wurde auch die erste große Kampagne gecastet.

Aleksandra gewann im großen Duell mit Joana und Rebecca den heiß begehrten Platz in der neuen Kampagne für Mentos. Zudem konnten die GNTM Zuschauer einen spannenden Walk auf sogenannten "Sky-Heels" (Super hohen High-Heells) erleben. Auch Joana wusste wie jede Episode reichlich zu überzeugen (siehe Joana Bilder in diesem und anderen Posts)

Leider gab es gegen Ende der aktuellen Germany Next Topmodel Episode auch ein kleines (großes) Drama um Joana. Joana hatte keine Lust mehr auf das Reality Format um GNTM. Glücklicherweise hat sie sich jedoch letztendlich doch für einen Verbleib bei der Casting Show entschieden.

JJ Abrams Alcatraz hitting TVs in Fall?

So theres rumours going around for a while now for the new upcoming J.J. Abrams project called "Alcatraz". Casting for the pilot has just been finished (see IMDB Casting List, including Sam Neill, Jorge Garcia, Robert Forster and Sarah Jones) and the script is ready to jump into production now. Even though IMDB lists this as to be released in 2013, rumours have it that it will most likely be shown to audiences and advertisers in New York in April/May to get a 2011 fall season release.

Alcatraz centers around the well known prison/island and some of the most gruesome criminals housing there. It is written and produced by LOST creator J.J. Abrams in a co-production with Kyle XY producer Steve Lilien and Elizabeth Sarnoff (LOST). I have no doubt JJ Abrams Alcatraz will be picked up by FOX, i just hope it won't take 2 years to get more episodes done.

Jamie Oliver gets banned in L.A. Schools

As it seems the second season of Jamie Olivers 'Food Revolution" is off to a stumbling start. When Oliver decided to move his business to Los Angeles, all he wanted to do is to get some kids in school to eat more healthy. Apparently some schools in L.A. beg to differ as he just got banned by a curmudgeonly school district (for trying to cook more healthy for the schoolkids).

Charlie Sheen going back to Two and a Half Men?

There are rumours floating around that TAAHM (Ex-)Star Charlie Sheen may be returning to CBS Two and a Half Men. Launched by NBC News reporter Jeff Rosen and also "Radar Online Story" there was the following Tweet going around on Twitter:

"Sources blose to Charlie Sheen tell NBC News, CBS has offered him his job back. Discussions onoing. Not a done Deal"

So whats behind all this? Possibly nothing. Before CBS can even re-hire him, not only production company Warner Bros. has to agree, but also series creator Chuck Lorre. Given the fact that Sheen right now is actually suing Lorre and Warner Bros. is possibly still raging about all the lost money due to Sheen, a lot of forgiving needs to be done before anyone gets hired anywhere again.

Stephen King and Walking Dead going into business?

C2E2 panel for 'Walking Dead' just finished and i've got one or two interesting news for you regarding the premise of upcoming season 2. Laurie Holden and Jon Bernthal, two actors reprising maincharacters on the show, stated that it is highly possible that Stephen King might write an episode for the Walking Dead Season 2.

On another note season 2 is upgrading its episodes per season. With just six episodes for season 1, the upcoming second season of Walking Dead luckily managed to get an order of 13 episodes, the first one to start shooting on June 1st.

I personally am thrilled to have King write an episode - maybe they even manage to get George A. Romero to direct one. For the whole 11 minute long talk with the 2 actors check the Read More.

Fringe Season 4 not going to happen?

Bad news for all fans of FOX supernatural drama Fringe. Ratings on this weeks Friday episode dropped again for 13 percent - hitting a new alltime low for the show. With a 1.3 demo rating and just 3.8 million viewers in total, a renewal of the expensive show seems out of reach for now.

Fringe started airing in 2008 and was set to be the new LOST, except it never really took off. Just moved to the Friday slot, it managed to atleast keep the ratings steady - up until now. Personally I really hope it gets renewed for a 4th season. In my opinion Fringe' biggest mistake was a really slow and kinda boring start back in Season 1. I don't even know why I kept watchin it, but I did, and I never regretted it. It really starts taking off after the first half of season 1. If you like Fringe start watching it live on Friday evenings so the Nielens ratings will go up eventually.

'Glee' Creator Ryan Murphy a f**cking asshole?

Theres a little buzz around musical/comedy/drama show 'Glee' going on right now. After Kings of Leon and Guns 'n' Roses not wanting to have their music on the show, Foo Fighter Dave Grohl just jumped on the bandwagon and told Ryan Murphy (Nip/Tuck, Glee) to "f*ck off" and not to use songs of the Foo Fighters in Glee - ever.

Murphy's ego appareantly could not handle the fact that some musicians, or even some people at all, don't like 'Glee' so he was going on a rant about Slash and all the other musicians who basically told 'Glee' to f*ck off. Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins described the situation like this:

"The Glee guy, what a f***ing jerk. Slash was the first one. He wanted to do Guns 'n' Roses and Slash is like, 'I hate f***ing musicals. It's worse than Grease.' Then [Murphy's] like, 'Well, of course he'd say that, he's a washed up ol' rock star, that's what they f***ing do.' And then Kings of Leon say, 'No, we don't want to be on your show.' And then he's like, 'Snotty little assholes...' And it's just like, Dude, maybe not everyone loves Glee. Me included."

As you can see a lot of drama about a -in my opinion- mediocre show. It's not the first time either that Ryan Murphy upsets people. Back in the days when Nip/Tuck still was one of the best TV Shows ever (around season 1 to 3) Murphy decided he is getting more and more bored with Nip/Tuck and, atleast thats what the Nip/Tuck community said, was basically  just letting it die. Nip/Tuck stopped production after its 100th episode and well fans of Nip/Tuck may see where I am going here: it was a disaster for something like that last 30-40 episodes.

Murphy started working on Glee and stopped caring at all for Nip/Tuck, the show lost most of its dramatic value and was entering a sea of obscure and downright terrible storylines that not even the highly talented Dylan Walsh (Sean McNamara) and Julian McMahon (Christian Troy) could save. Don't get me wrong here, Nip/Tuck STILL is in my personal Top-5 of the best TV-Shows of all time, but it could have been so much better if Murphy didn't decide to focus on Glee and let Nip/Tuck die.

What do you guys think, is Murphy an asshole or is Glee just THAT good that musicians all over the world should feel proud to get their songs featured?

Community gets picked up for season 3

Great news for all Community fans (like me). The NBC show just got an early renewal for season 3. After there were rumours floating around that NBC might axe it because of mediocre ratings, the NBC chairman Bob Greenblatt anounced on friday that it gets picked up for another full season.

There also were some rumours floating around 2 days ago that it might get an early renewal but since there was just one source I decided to wait for an official statement to tell you about the good news. Because, well, nothing is more dissapointing than to be told that there is a Community Season 3 when there won't be one.

It gets even better. Ignoring the fact that Steve Carell is leaving The Office it also did get an early pickup alongside with Parks and Recreation. Great day for all fans of entertaining 20-min comedy.

90210 back on track?

CW 90210 is on a good way to get renewed for a fourth season. Just finished its third season, fans of the show have to deal with a major loss right before season 4 is even in the making. Showrunner Rebecca Sinclair is going to leave the zip-code no matter if -and how- it gets renewed.

Sinclar was popular amongst the 90210 community for injecting some heavily needed luster into the teenage angst series. She joined the series after a dissapointing season 1. For now there are no rumours who is going to take her place.

Wie jeden Donnerstag erquickte uns Heidi Klum auch diese Woche wieder mit der 3. Folge der aktuellen GNTM 2011 Staffel. Während sich Concetta direkt beim ersten Fotoshooting aufgrund von Arbeitsverweigerung direkt verabschieden durfte, bleiben die GNTM 2011 Top 3 Favoriten Joana, Aleksandra und Marie-Luise weiter im Rennen um den Titel des Germanys Next Topmodel.

Neben grusligen Fotoshoots mit Topfotografen Rankin, einem Walk auf der London Fasion Week und ein VIP-Event mit Heidi Klum, durften die GNTM 2011 Mädels weiter in die Welt der Topmodels und Modeikonen schnuppern.

Der wöchentliche Livewalk mit dem amüsanten Modelcoach fand schließlich im komplett abgedunkelten Raum ab. Zudem bekam Marie-Luise erneut die Chance sich zu beweisen - oder zumindest eine Verbesserung erkennen zu lassen.

Zudem schwirren aktuell Gerüchte im Netz, dass Valeria und Franziska die Show demnächst freiwillig verlassen könnten. Beide spielen mit Ausstiegsgedanken und sollten unter Umständen schon in Folge 3 oder 4 nicht mehr von der Partie sein.

She plays Lily, a young attorney who seeks for help and finds a young ex-angel by the name of Dashiell (Ben Aldrige). With the help of her own and personal angel she is trying to master the cases of her local legal aid clinic while her angel is trying to rescue the souls of her clients. Heavenly also features the young pastor Owen who is played by Ryan Eggold.

Knepper to reprise his role as T-Bag in Breakout Kings

I bet you did not think you would see this guy again any time soon huh? Well you thought wrong. Robert Knepper is so reprise his roles as the infamous Theoder Bagwell, short T-Bag, in A&E's all new Drama Series Breakout Kings. He will appear in episode 1.8 (at least as listed on IMDB) as the main villain after he just broke out of prison.

The guardians of the law Breakout Kings will have to try to reach him before he reaches the borders of canada while trying to prevent any more murders. Beeing on the run, T-Bag leaves some mysterious items such as cologne and and a shaving kit behind him. For what reason? Well you guess you to find out on March 20th on A&E.

Steven Spielbergs "Terra Nova" pushed to fall season

Just to inform you: Terra Nova by Steven Spielberg has just been pushed back to fall season by FOX executives. The long awaited hit series was planned to air the pilot on the 23rd of May but recently just got moved back to somewhere in fall season. Kevin Reilly, head of FOX Entertainment stated that the ambitious TV Show Terra Nova needs more time to realize than originally planned.

No wonder if you ask me. I've seen the superbowl ads and i still wonder how they are planning to finance this whole thing. This is a multimillion dollar investment by FOX and for the sake of their upcoming TV schedule it should better attract an equivalent of viewers to get their money back. Sadly this was not the first time it got moved back, so you might wonder what is going on behind the curtains of their production. If you missed the trailer that aired for the SuperBowl make sure to check it out because so far it looks absolutely awesome.

The Office says Bye-Bye to Steve Carell

Its been known for quite some time now and now i can even give you the exact date: On the 28th of April we bid farewell to Steve Carell and the infamous Micheal Scott from The Office. The replacement for the reminder of the season will be no other than Will Farrell, though there surfaced no details about this character in particular so far.

Steve Carell reveived a Golden Globe and an overall of five nominations for the Emmy award for his portrait of the Micheal Scott character. Do you actually think NBC The Office will keep it amazing ratings without Carell? I am certainly in doubts so far.

Germanys Next Topmodel 2011 Finalisten

Die Wahl der GNTM 2011 Finalisten begeistert auch in der aktuellen Staffel wieder die Fans der deutschen Modelnachwuchswelt. Dabei sickern verlässliche Informationen bezüglich der Top 3 der laufenden Staffel eher spärrlich durch, weshalb auch ich mich mit Quellenangaben zurückhalten werde. Aus verlässlichen Quellen bestehen aktuell gute Chancen dass die 3 Finalistinnen wie folgt aussehen werden:

Joana

Mein persönlicher Favorit ist 20-jährige Joana. Joana fiel in der 1. Folge von GNTM 2011 vor allem durch ihre Zickigkeit gegenüber der Jury auf. Auch Tessa fiel dabei schon über ihr eigenes Ego, ob Joana es besser machen wird, bleibt abzuwarten. Immerhin war sie in Folge 2 wesentlich unauffälliger. Heiße Anwärter auf die Top3 sind meiner Meinung nach außerdem Jil und Aleksandra. Letztlich wäre es jedoch nicht das erste mal, dass Heidi Klum vorzeitige Favoriten genauso vorzeitig auch wieder aussortiert.

Former LOST actor Terry O'Quinn signs up for "Hallelujah" on ABC

Missing LOST and the weekly adventures of Terry O’Quinn starring as Locke yet? Well I certainly do. For all fans of O’Quinn and LOST there is going to be some hope atleast. Aussiello reports he has just signed on for ABC’s drama “Hallelujah” which is going to air the pilot in fall season.

Hallulejah comes from the mind of Marc Cherry, the creator of Desperate Housives, and takes place in a small town, which is torn apart by the forces of good and evil. The towns residents gather hope when an unknown stranger arrives to bring justice to evil, restore the faith of mankind – or atleast the towns – and to .. well sing.

Yes you just heard right. This is going to be a drama and musical at the same time. And honestly? I just hate the idea of it. I don’t like musicalshows, whether they are named Glee or Hallelujah I honestly just don’t care. I hate O’Quinn wasting his time with this and I am not sure if I even want to hear him singing.

Do you want a singing Locke or are you going to be like “Oh come on, just get this dude back to an island please” like me?

Are Animes as good as "real" TV Shows?

Thats the question i'd like to talk about for today. In my opinion: Yes, they actually are as good as real TV-Shows. But it's not that easy. Animes still suffer from their public perception as a simple-minded and funny cartoons, more like Bugs Bunny or Mickey Mouse instead of a serious show in an animated form. Burn Notice Movie in the making

Well rumours have been going around for a while, but it's finally confirmed: A Burn Notice movie is actually in the making right now. The Movie will be a prequel to the tv servies and theres actually not that much Micheal Weston in it - atleast ont actingwise

The movie focusses on Sam Axe (Bruce Campbell) and how he got  stuck in Miami. Cambell said "The whole mission is because Sam was fooling around with somebody, who he didn't know was an admiral's wife". Timeline will be set 5 years before the first events of Burn Notice and as a special gimmick - it is directed by Jeffrey Donovan (plays the maincharacter Micheal Weston) itself.


The Sam Axe Burn Notice Prequel is called The Fall of Sam Axe and is going to air at USA Network on the 17th of april. Personally? I am psyched about it, not only because i love Bruce Campbell, but because i am really interested in Donovans debut as a director.

HBO releases first Game of Thrones Trailer

Well personally, i absolutely LOVE TV Shows produced and aired on HBO. For the new midseason 2011 they plan to release a kind of sci-fi, medieval, fantasydrama called Game of Thrones. Yesterday they just released the first full trailer for Game of Thrones and i got to tell you: I'm actually not THAT psyched. It looks good and i bet it's got a whole lot of characterdepth and subplotlines, but still i can't seem to get behind the idea of just another medival drama.

Since it's HBO i am going to ignore my first impression and still going to give this thing a shot. I still bet it is going to be great for fans of this century and these kind of TV Shows. You can find the Trailer below, judge for yourself!

True Blood Season 4 is coming up

True Blood Season 4 is coming up and i've got some details on the major characters for all True Blood fans (small True Blood Season 4 spoilers ahead)

Eric Northman: Skarsgard told the media that True Blood will keep on following the original material. For Eric that means: bye-bye memory. Eric needs to handle his lost memories in the first half of Season 4.

Bill and Sookie: They broke up in the end of Season 3 and it will most likely stick, atleast for now. So no more SOOOOKEEHHH in True Blood Season 4!

Tara: Tara is going to return after her absence most of the time in the season finale. She is not going to be the Tara we know from True Blood Season 1 and 2 but she will be a little more emotionally stable.

Also: We will see more Shapeshifters, though i'm not going to tell you which one for now. Fans of the books probably know what i'm implying here ;)

Can't keep up with current TV Shows?

Since i watch a lot of TV Shows i often find it hard to keep up with the current shows.I live in germany so i usually do not watch that much of american TV and often miss a new episode after a show went on break. I find this little website to be very helpful: TV Calendar.

With TV Calendar you can set up a set of TV Shows that you watch and follow them in the calendar. This way you won't miss an episode of your favorite show ever again.

Joana - GNTM 2011

Joana, 20 Jahre aus Bayern

Germanys Next Topmodel 2011 ging in die nächste Runde. Wieder einmal hat Heidi Klum ihre Jury völlig umgekrempelt und 2 neue "Größen" der Modeszene ins Boot geholt. Überraschenderweise fand ich Episode 1 (lief am Donnerstag 20:15 auf Pro7) jedoch erträglicher als noch die letzte Staffel, bei der ich nicht einmal die erste EP überlebte. Besonders überzeugen konnte mich dabei Joana (siehe Bild), die von ihrer leicht überheblichen und arroganten Art etwas an Tessa Bergmeier aus einer vergangenen Staffel erinnert. Genau wie Tessa, bringt Joana jedoch auch "die goods" mit um sich die große Klappe auch erlauben zu dürfen.

Neben einer Topfigur und auch, das ist ja keine Selbstverständlichkeit, etwas im Köpfchen (sie machte ihr Abitur), konnte Joana auch bei allen Prüfungen, egal ob als Backgrounddancer für Ke$ha oder auf dem Schwebebalken voll überzeugen. Gar nicht überzeugen konnte übrigens Marie-Luise. Das hinderte die Jury jedoch nicht sie trotzdem bei den 2 Entscheidungen weiter kommen zu lassen.

So is "13" finally going to be back?

13 returns to the House M.D. Staff

If you follow the rumours closely it's not hard to find out Olivia Wilde (called "13" by Gregory House) is going to return to FOX House M.D. Personally i love Olivia Wilde and i loved her character 13 so i'm more than happy for her to finally return to the show. Olivia took a break from filming House to pursue her movie career (TRON and Cowboys&Aliens) and is planning to return for the rest of the season.

David Shore, creator of House, has announced that there are plans for her character for the 8th season of house we will likely see her as a series regular in the future. She returned to the set of house on 1st March so we will see atleast 4 episodes where she only appears as a credit-only castmember. Personally i hope they're not going to kill her off, but with her movie-career its doubtful if she is planning to stay on House M.D. for long.

Do you guys think Olivia should stay for atleast 1 more season on House or do you wish for her to pursue the big screen?
